Looking through my photos from 2016 I came across the ones from this vine with glossy dark green leaves and over a foot long bright sunny yellow flowers. The long sprays of yellow flowers are actually the bracts while the flowers are small and white. They start at the tips of the branches and grow longer and longer throughout the summer.
This vine grows in a hanging basket, I drape the long runners over the hammock stand. It gets morning sun and the rest of the day it has the dappled shade of the Crepe Myrtles. It seems to be happy in Myrtle Glen, I looked back through my records, I bought it in 2010.
It is a semi-tropical plant and does not like the cold. During the winter months I bring the basket into the garage with the orchids when temperatures drop below 45F.

Very pretty! What a great vine to grow on a pergola, with all the chains of yellow flowers hanging down!
