What a surprise, my Aechmea maculata, a Bromeliad, started to bloom. I am outside every day, I can’t believe I missed it until today

The long inflorescence with the bright hot pink bracts holds a white cone where the flowers will open up soon

It will look gorgeous in a few days

Here is a picture from last year, the flowers are a bright yellow, and the spent flowers turn black
