Hedychium 'Dr. Moy' |
This beautiful butterfly ginger grows to about 7 feet and displays a huge and very showy flower head.
but the special thing about this plant, and why I grow it, are the variegated leaves. The white streaks and spots on the leaves look like sun patches. Of course it does not hurt that the flowers are fragrant ;-)
I grow mine under a Loquat tree and a Crepe Myrtle, it gets filtered sunlight and a good amount of water. Easy to grow and low maintenance, a favorite of mine.
eine herrliche Blume
ReplyDeleteDanke, es freut mich sehr wenn du meinen blog besuchst :-)
DeleteSeven feet! The blooms are spectacular, and I also really like the foliage. I have a huge weakness for variegated foliage!
ReplyDeleteme too, I love variegated plants. Some revert back, sadly, but this Hedychium is stable for me. I have this plant for 10 years without a problem :-)
