Cruising to Cuba

When we learned of our favorite cruise line's inaugural trip to Cuba we jumped at this opportunity.

Royal Caribbean went above and beyond to make this a very special and memorable cruise, starting in the cruise terminal, we received cups of fresh Cuban coffee, and stepping on board we were greeted with a tall glass of Cuba Libre.

What did I bring back to remember this trip? Coconut monkeys. Yes, that's what I wanted, a couple of coconut monkeys for the garden :-)

And yes, Havana has adjusted to tourist prices. Cigars are expensive. Rum is still a little cheaper than in the US. We did not exchange Dollars to CUC, where we went the Dollars were gladly accepted, such as the Artisan market by the cruise port, as tips in the restaurant and the cigar/rum shop.

On the last day of the cruise, we received a special gift from Royal Caribbean, this piece of art on canvas by Nelson Domínguez Cedeño

This inaugural cruise to Havana, Cuba was truly a special cruise!
