What's blooming - March 2018

During the last couple months, four severe winter storms up north pushed cold temperatures into Florida, not freezing but chilly and cold enough for my tropicals to sulk. February flowers are this year's March flowers.

Besides all Phals in full bloom the Phaius are flowering

Phaius Microburst 'Orchtoberfest and in back the Phaius Tankervilleae or Nun's Orchid

Phal NoID, Den. nobile 'Ester Brosche', Epi 'Pacific Gold', Guaritonia 'Why Not', Phaius Microburst 'Georges Gold'

The orchids appreciating a cold snap are flowering by now such as the reed stem epidendrum varieties, vanda terete, Dendrobium agregatum, Den. nobile, Den. lodigesii, and Den. aphyllum.

Den. aphyllum

The Hippeastrum are waking up as well, and this will go super fast, the flower will grow like overnight and the next day it is in bloom :-) ok, I exaggerated just a bit ;-)

H. petiolatum, H. 'Red Lion', NoID 'old garden variety'

A few more flowers:
Alpinia 'Pink Perfection', Giant Apostles iris, pink Fire Spike, Hibiscus 'Peach Blow', Spiderwort, OGR 'Ducher'
