We visited the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville, NC for the special exhibition 'Dave Rodgers' Big Bugs'.

This well-kept garden has a large cultivated area with specialty gardens, such as the Camellia and Hosta collections, water wise garden, butterfly plants area, and Heritage garden.

The Heritage Garden is a gem! There is an authentic 1886 farmhouse with antique tools, outbuildings, gardens, and a workshop.

But I especially liked the path through the large forest area with lookouts over the Cape Fear river and peeks into a ravine. This natural area holds indigenous plants, trees and you find signs of wildlife everywhere (and I'm not talking about the wooden critters ;) )
