... for Summer Solstice, the Queen of the Night is flowering.
More buds with the promise of spectacular flowers for tonight.
Selenicereus grandiflorus, or Queen of the Night cactus.
The flowers will open around 10 P.M. and close before dawn never to open again.
Anyone in the area is welcome to stop by for a close up look of the dinner plate size flowers :-)
Das sind ja wieder große Blühten
ReplyDeletehoffentlich erwischt du sie wenn sie aufgehen
die Natur ist einfach großartig
That's perfect timing! Did you get a picture of the open blossoms?
ReplyDeleteNICE SHOTS and very healthy plant....I have cirrus1
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful, what are the fuzzy bits at the end of the stem, looks like the petals come out of there, like coming out of their hiding place to bloom.
ReplyDeleteThe flower buds start out as small fuzz balls, getting larger and larger until the flower pushes through the fuzzy part.
