When the Golden Spider Lily, Lycoris aurea, flowers it signals the begin of Autumn in Myrtle Glen
And the clean-up time in the garden begins. Leaves, leaves, and more leaves. Most just turn brown but I do see golden colors here and there.
Fall is here, but the hibiscus shrubs didn't get the memo, they keep flowering, this one is 'Pride of Hankins', very dark pink, almost wine color
Hibiscus El capitolio 'Bloody Mary' and Hibiscus 'Hawaiian Salmon'
I find the lotus seed pods very attractive, they do keep for a long time before falling over. I remember when living in Germany I have seen the seed pods quite often being used in floral arrangements. Not sure if that is still a thing nowadays.
What a surprise, we are having a slight temperature dip these past days and I believe the beautiful sunsets are the result. Look at all the traffic, people are getting tired of staying at home.
Safest is to stay in one's own backyard, and to keep busy raking leaves ;-)
Today I am linking up with :
What a nice shots from autumn!
ReplyDeleteI love it, with its beautiful colors and moods.
That would also be a great contribution to my call Der-Natur-Thursday
I would be very happy.
best regards
Beautiful flowers and the sky pic is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe colors of your remaining blooms are exquisite. I love the sky shot you have. I hate raking leaves. Here in Oklahoma the wind blows all the time so I just let it blow the leaves to my neighbors yard. (Just kidding, kind of )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms and a lovely sky. The lotus seedpods are so unusual!

Love love the golden spider lily and I sure would try to use those lotus seed pods in an arrangement.
ReplyDeleteI wish the lilies would flower for a longer time than just a few days.
